How Cranes Lift Australia
01
Deliver Critical Infrastructure
Although often operating behind the scenes, the crane industry is fundamental to building Australia’s economy. Cranes play a vital role in delivering the infrastructure and projects that communities and industries rely on every day. From roads, bridges, ports and rail, to hospitals, schools, renewable energy projects, housing, mining and major industrial developments.
02
Support Job Creation
Without cranes, construction and heavy industry simply cannot function at scale. The sector supports thousands of jobs across engineering, transport, manufacturing, construction, logistics and more.
03
Build Australia’s Economy
The crane industry enables billions of dollars’ worth of economic activity each year. As Australia continues to grow and invest in nation-building infrastructure, the crane industry remains an essential enabler of productivity, development and economic progress.
04
Disaster Recovery
‘From droughts and flooding plains’… cyclones and storm damage, crane crews are often among the first called in to restore access and clear critical infrastructure. Cranes lift fallen structures, move heavy debris, place emergency equipment where it’s needed most, and play a quiet but essential role in getting communities back on their feet.
When Australia needs to recover, cranes help lift us back up to it.
05
Maintenance
A significant amount of crane work involves maintaining existing infrastructure, equipment and facilities by removing, repairing and reinstalling heavy components with precision. Maintenance often involves working in confined spaces or around operational assets where heavy components cannot be dismantled by hand. Without cranes, many essential maintenance tasks would take significantly longer, cost more, or simply could not be completed safely.
The crane sector although small in comparison to other industries plays a massive role in supporting Australia's construction, infrastructure, mining, energy and logistic sectors. This contribution cannot be underestimated.
